The Town of Stuyvesant participates in NYS’s Climate Smart Communities and Clean Energy Communities programs. Over the past several years, we have taken active steps to reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions wherever possible.
At the Town Hall, these steps include solar panels (installed in 2013), closed cell insulation installed in the attic (2020), converting lighting fixtures to LED (2023), installing high efficiency heat pumps (2023). To see the full size poster with more details, please go to our Photo Gallery
We have an active Climate Smart Communities Task Force and information on their activities can be found on their page of our website at: CSC Task Force
