In 2025 the Town broke ground on the Veterans’ Memorial Park project on the grounds of the Town Hall. The Park is to honor Veterans from the Town of Stuyvesant, or are/were relatives of Stuyvesant residents. The Veteran does not have to be deceased to be honored.
Engraved blocks may be purchased from the Town Clerk’s Office by using the order form found here… VETERANS’ PARK ENGRAVED BLOCK ORDER FORM The cost of the block is $100 and includes the block and engraving.
Updates:
08/20/26: Deadline for block orders to be installed in the Fall is September 15th.
04/30/26: We have several engraved stones installed and are waiting on an order of additional blanks to finish off the base. 6 Serviceberry trees have been planted and a water feature has been installed. We will have an unveiling ceremony on May 23rd at 1pm with a reception immediately following.
11/20/25: The Highway Department along with the Councilman Charles Stiffler have been working hard to get more of the park done before the real winter weather sets in. The center circle was completed last week. Yesterday, the gray stones were fit in around the circle. Yesterday and today the round military emblem stones are being inset into the black circle in the center. If you have a minutes, stop by and admire the work the guys are doing. REMINDER: February 15th is the deadline for the Spring installment of engraved stones.
11/10/25: Our dedication and reception was well attended. Thank you to everyone who took the time to come out on a rainy and cold day to help us “open” our park.
11/5/25: We will hold a dedication / reveal on Sunday, Nov. 9th at 2:00pm to give everyone an opportunity to see the engraved stones installed. The park isn’t completed yet but the stones are there. We will hold a larger ceremony over Memorial Day weekend when the park is complete and there are additional stones to reveal.
There will be a reception immediately following in the Town Hall. All are welcome.
11/5/25: We are accepting order forms for stones that will be installed in the Spring. The order forms must be received by February `15th to be included in the Spring installation (there is a 6-8 week timeframe for engraving then the guys have to have time to install them).
