Cemeteries Committee
The Cemeteries Committee administered by the Town Board are the Firwood Cemetery (Church Street) and Butler Cemetery (State Route 9J). The committee reports to the Town Board.

Stuyvesant Landing Historic District Committee
The Committee has been established to create a Historic District of homes in Stuyvesant Landing.

The Stuyvesant Landing Historic district will be presented to the NYS Board for Historic Preservation on March 12, 2026, at the New York State Museum. You may attend in person or virtually. The details are here: NYS Board for Historic Preservation Meeting 3-12-2026

Historic Stuyvesant District Application to SHPO – January 2026
To find information about the historic district’s map boundaries, you can use the following web feature service:

The National Register service includes individual and district listings. Stuyvesant Falls Mill District has SHPO National Register Number 90NR00245 and Stuyvesant Landing is 25NR00078.
The information about the districts and the individual buildings are in the National Register nomination form PDFs in CRIS (Cultural Resource Information System).
If you go to CRIS’s Search page, you can enter the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) National Register numbers (90NR00245 and 25NR00078) under the Lookup search tab. Then you can open the National Register project records and find the nomination forms under the Atts. (Attachments) tab.
To obtain a copy of the 2026 National Register nomination for the Stuyvesant Landing Historic District, you can also contact the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) Division for Historic Preservation or reach out directly to the Town of Stuyvesant Historian’s Office.
State & Federal Contact Points
- New York State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO): Request records through the New York State Parks Division for Historic Preservation, which processed the nomination approved by the State Board for Historic Preservation in March 2026.
- National Park Service (NPS): Search or request public documentation via the National Register of Historic Places Database, where the district was formally listed in May 2026 (reference number SG100013012). For the Stuyvesant Falls Mill Historic District, search using the National Register reference number: 76001210.
