The Town of Stuyvesant has been offering its residents a free trash day twice a year for a number of years now. We believe that residents enjoy this service and we feel it helps keep our town free of trash. This past spring we held an event that collected a record amount of trash and ended up costing the Town our yearly budget for just the 1st event of the year, and we had planned our Budget to cover the cost that would provide a 2nd trash day as we have been doing for years.
Due to the fact that we will be predictably over budget in this category, we are planning to hold a 2nd trash day as scheduled on October 4th 2025 but are limiting residents to one trip per ticket. We continue to issue tickets per household so that we as residents are not paying for trash for other municipalities!
Please work with us on this event to keep tonnage to a minimum and remember for larger loads you can always take trash Greenport most any day for disposal.
Tickets will be available from the Town Clerk’s Office beginning September 15th.
