This webpage is the dedicated resource for the Town’s Local Comprehensive Plan (LCP) update effort where you will find information and notice of upcoming events and meetings. We encourage you to check in regularly and engage in this collaborative process to develop a plan for Stuyvesant’s future.
This is our community’s plan and your voice matters! The LCP Committee are seeking input from residents, business owners, and workforce members to envision what Stuyvesant’s future should be over the next 10 to 20 years. What kind of place do you want Stuyvesant to be in the future? What changes are important now and what do you want to see preserved?
What is a Local Comprehensive Plan?
A Local Comprehensive Plan is the culmination of a planning process that establishes the official land use policy of a community. It identifies a vision, goals and actions that guides official decision making. The LCP includes an analysis of current data showing development trends, land use, infrastructure, and resource protection efforts. This analysis, combined with robust community engagement, will result in policies that guide the priority needs for the community into the future. The Town’s 1996 LCP will start the conversation – your voice will guide development of the final plan for the community.
