Natural Resources Inventory Kickoff Meeting 3/24

The Town of Stuyvesant is pleased to announce the launch of a Natural and Cultural Resources Inventory (NRI) — a professionally guided project to identify, map, and describe the town’s most significant natural, historic, scenic, and recreational resources.

The project is being led by environmental consultants Nan Stolzenburg of Community Planning & Environmental Associates and Rick Lederer-Barnes of Upstate GIS, working in close collaboration with a volunteer Steering Committee of Stuyvesant residents: Maria Ausherman, Everett Brown, Sue Decker, Kevin Haberland, Quade Kirk, Keegan Oneal, and Kathryn Schneider.

The Steering Committee Kickoff Meeting will be held Tuesday, March 24 at 5:30pm in Town Hall (5 Sunset Dr.). The meeting is open to the public and all are welcome to attend, though discussion will be focused among Steering Committee members as the consultants introduce the project and outline the process ahead.

A photo contest and public community workshop to review draft materials are being planned for this summer. More details will be shared as the project unfolds!

This project has been funded in part by a grant from the New York State Environmental Protection Fund through the Hudson River Estuary Program of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

Thank you for your continued investment in our community!
